MBTC COVID-19 CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY EMERGENCY REQUIREMENTS

Construction project owners shall require that contractors develop a comprehensive COVID 19 exposure control, mitigation, and recovery plan which includes control measures such as enhanced PPE utilization, social distancing, symptom checking, hygiene, decontamination procedures, post incident recovery and sanitation, and training.
A comprehensive COVID-19 plan and the following practices must be followed before any onsite worker is found to have COVID-19 and to prevent any onsite worker from contracting COVID-19, as many people with COVID-19 are asymptomatic and can potentially spread disease. FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THIS GUIDANCE SHALL BE DEEMED AS CREATING UNSAFE CONDITIONS AND WILL RESULT IN PROJECTS NOT RE-OPENING OR THE SHUTTING DOWN OF THE CONSTRUCTION SITE UNTIL CORRECTED AND MAINTAINED.

LAID OFF……NOW WHAT DO I DO?
Call the Union Hall (248-538-6636-option 2 for the agent on dispatch) to give them your layoff date and to be put on the out of work list-you MUST be on the Out Of Work list to receive a SUB Check

The UIA recommending that workers go first to the online system at Michigan.gov/UIA.”
In addition, applying online in off-peak hours will expedite the process. The 24-hour website operates faster when there are fewer people on the site at any given time. The UIA also urges Michiganders using the website to expect longer load times. It may take several minutes for a page to load at this time. Users are asked to be patient and not click more than once to reload a page. Filing online remains the fastest way for Michiganders to apply for unemployment benefits.
Off-peak hours: 8 p.m. to 8 a.m.
UIA will give you a call in date within 2 weeks to call in or go online to certify for payment of UIA for your weeks that you were laid off and claiming UIA

Call 1-866-500-0017 or go online on the day that was given to you by UIA to certify for your weeks of UIA
Once you certify and your UIA claim is PAID for the weeks that you certified for (most cases the next day the money will be in your account) you then need to do the following in order to receive a SUB Check:

Go back in to www.michigan.gov/uia, log into your account and click on the CERTIFICATION tab (next to My Account tab) this will show you the Benefit Payments and weeks you were paid for

This is the information that you need to receive a Sub Pay Check

You need to send a copy of this to the sub office by either email mapril@pipefitters636.org or fax 248-686-0777-you can take a picture of the document or you can scan and email it BUT MAKE SURE THE DOCUMENT HAS YOUR NAME ON IT AND THE DOCUMENT IS LEGIBLE

You will receive verification from the Sub Office when your request is received

Beloved son of the late Edward and Jeanette Kovach. Dearest brother of Gail (Robert) Bowers, Jeff (Dr. Bernadette) Kovach, Audrey (the late Mark) Evans and Thomas (Patty) Kovach. Dear uncle of Eric Bowers, Sean Bowers, Alayna Evans, Lee Evans and Ian Kovach. Also survived by former spouse Dixie.
Memorial contributions are appreciated to National Kidney Foundation.
