Eric was born to Beb and Elaine (Denno) Bondy in Monroe, Michigan on August 15, 1957. He was a 1975 graduate of Jefferson High School. He attended Lincoln Welding School in 1977 and Hobart Welding School in 1980. He married Robin Tiegs on September 20, 1980. The couple celebrated their 40th Anniversary this year.

Eric proudly worked as a journeymen pipefitter and welder for 40 years. He began his career out of Benton Harbor Local 513 and later became a member of Detroit Local 636. Eric’s skill set and work ethic provided extraordinary opportunities including helping to construct United States Embassies in Baghdad, Iraq as well as Surabaya, Indonesia. His loyalty to the union was just one of the many reasons he was so well loved and respected throughout the Skilled Trades community. Eric left his signature craftsmanship all over the Detroit area up until his retirement in the summer of 2018.
Eric was a lifelong member of St. Anne’s Parish. He was a devout Catholic and lived his life according to his faith. His continuous acts of kindness and generosity varied from helping a stranger alongside the road to constructing a water system for an orphanage in Indonesia. He was a friend to all.
